"This was bi-partisan, Democrats and Republicans from all corners of Michigan coming together to support Detroit."

Governor Rick Snyder.

Governor Rick Snyder will approve the state’s part of the so-called Grand Bargain Friday. It’s the agreement to ease pension cuts for retired Detroit city workers and protect city-owned art works at the DIA. The governor will commit 195-million dollars approved by the Legislature. The museum, Detroit’s automakers, and several foundations have also pledged millions to the agreement. Retirees have until July 11th to accept or reject it. The governor tells WDET's Pat Batcheller what the agreement means for the city and the state. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.
