Hamtramck faces its second state takeover since 2000, or perhaps bankruptcy, after Governor Rick Snyder declared a financial emergency in the city. Last week on WDET's Morning Edition, Mayor Karen Majewski laid part of the blame on Lansing, for cutting revenue sharing dollars that cities use for vital services such as public safety. Terry Stanton is with the state Treasurer's office says the city officials didn't make enough budget choices.
