On their latest record, “Under Color of Official Right,” Detroit’s Protomartyr create an abrasive yet more nuanced brand of punk rock. Their signature sound -- brooding and wild -- has twisted the ears of fans and critics around the world.

After their record release show on Tuesday at PJ’s Lager House in Detroit, Protomartyr starts its first multi-national tour.

Guitarist Greg Ahee and singer Joe Casey spoke about the band with WDET’s Travis Wright.

Casey says with the band's newfound fame, he's had to answer many questions about the group's hometown -- Detroit.
