The 'Fix' Is In: I-96 Closes For The Summer This Weekend

April 4, 2014

"This is not a Band-Aid, this is a complete rebuild."

Rob Morosi, Michigan Department of Transportation.

Construction will close I-96 between Telegraph and Newburgh Roads for the next six months. The work starts Saturday morning at 7:00, and will force drivers to figure out which detour works best for them. Michigan Department of Transportation spokesman Rob Morosi says the freeway will be closed all summer so workers can rebuild it. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.
