Hackel Presses Lawmakers--Fix The Roads!

A blast of arctic air Wednsday night followed by milder temperatures this weekend will likely create more potholes across Metro Detroit. The alternating freezing and thawing is what causes pavement to crumble. State lawmakers are working on emergency funding for local governments that have already exhausted their winter road maintenance budgets. But they’re still far apart on a long-term fix. Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that the Legislature can’t put it off any longer. Click on the audio link to hear the conversation.
