Lions Owner William Clay Ford Dies

The Detroit Lions and Ford Motor Company say team owner William Clay Ford, Sr. died Sunday at age 88. He was the last surviving grandson of Henry Ford, and bought a controlling stake in the Lions in November 1963. During his tenure, the team won 311 games, lost 443, and tied 14. They made 11 NFL playoff appearances, but won just once (1991).
