Allen Park Asks Residents, Businesses To Shape City's Future

February 27, 2014

"I expect transitioning out of Allen Park closer to the end of the year."

Allen Park Emergency Manager Joyce Parker.

As Detroit’s bankruptcy unfolds in federal court, another city in financial distress is heading for the court of public opinion. Allen Park is asking business owners and residents to come up with a wish list for the city’s future. Joyce Parker is Allen Park’s emergency manager. She tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller it’s a chance for people to tell officials what kind of city they want to live in. Click on the audio link above to hear the conversation.

The meeting, "Allen Park: Our Vision, Our Future", is scheduled for 8:30 am, Saturday, March 1st, at Allen Park High School, on Champaign between Pelham and Allen Roads.
