Cost Tops List Of Suburban Concerns About Water Spinoff

Detroit has until the end of next week to give a federal judge its plan to restructure its debt and emerge from bankruptcy. The so-called plan of adjustment may include a proposal to spin-off the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department to a new regional authority. Suburban leaders are wary of the plan, especially the potential costs. Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that he needs a lot more information about the idea.
