If you can’t stop eating cookies once you start, or crave salty snacks like potato chips--you are not alone. Researchers at the University of Michigan have been conducting a study about which foods—if any—can illicit an addiction-like response. The study found that many people report having intense cravings for highly processed foods, like snack cakes and chips. Ashley Gearhardt is an assistant professor at the University of Michigan and was part of the research team. She spoke with WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen.
