$100-million Could Reach Municipalities to Pay for Road Repairs

February 19, 2014

The State Senate Appropriations Committee has approved an emergency budget amendment, which calls for 100-million dollars to pay for road repairs. A bitterly cold and snowy winter has left roads in rough shape, and several municipalities have already exceeded their road maintenance budgets. State Senator John Pappageorge represents Michigan’s 13th District, and proposed the 100-million dollar amendment. He spoke to WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen.

The emergency budget amendment goes to the full Senate for a vote on Thursday.
