Peters Sponsors New Legislation to Fund Customs Plazas

Michigan Congressman Gary Peters introduced legislation this week to get federal funding for customs plazas at busy U.S. border crossings. While the measure doesn’t specifically name the new bridge crossing between Windsor and Detroit…the legislation—if approved—would help the project. Peters says it makes sense for the United States to pay for a new Detroit customs plaza…since Canada is paying for the rest of the bridge project. He spoke to WDET's J. Carlisle Larsen.
