Stabenow: "This Isn't Your Father's Farm Bill"

President Obama will sign a new five-year farm bill during a visit to Michigan State University on Friday. The bill eliminates direct subsidies to farmers and cuts food stamp funding by about $800 million a year. Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow chairs the Senate Agriculture Committee, which spent months wrangling over what should be in the bill and what shouldn’t.
