City Offers Workers, Retirees Big Discount On Auction Homes

Mayor Mike Duggan and city council members want more municipal employees to buy homes in Detroit. Toward that end, they’re offering current and retired city workers a steep discount on homes sold through the Detroit Land Bank Authority’s auction program. Land Bank spokesman Craig Fahle tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that the winning bidders will save 50 percent on the final price. Click on the audio links above to hear the conversation.
