"I actually comb the world of science--especially in my own field, astrophysics and ways that affect us--and I will say, 'Here's a good way to explain that. Here's a way to understand that.' And in this way I can trigger your curiosity..."

--Neil deGrasse Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium and host of 'Star Talk'

If you’ve watched Fox Television’s revamped ‘Cosmos’; or, watched a documentary on space; or, have even spent some time navigating Twitter, you have more than likely crossed paths with Neil deGrasse Tyson. He’s an astrophysicist and the director of the Hayden Planetarium at American Museum of Natural History in New York. He’s also an extremely popular commentator about space and technology, and has found a wide audience through social media and his podcast. He’ll be in Detroit on January 28th to deliver a lecture. He recently spoke with WDET’s J. Carlisle Larsen about the talks he gives and what influences them.
